Engagement Details

We started with the mission of bringing a simple payment experience to the text space. Over the past five years we’ve continued to innovate on what a simple payment conversation really is. Our platform manages the mission critical task of billing and payments on behalf of our partners and customers, removing the burden of investing in additional resources, infrastructure, and a customer management web portal. It also provides the 70% of consumers who live paycheck to paycheck the power to authorize bill payments quickly and on their terms. Located in Southern California, we're located in the heart of Silicon Beach, the second largest technology hub in the world. We are a lean startup resourced and managed by a group of experienced technical and business professionals.

Role We’re seeking a detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer with solid experience in Cypress to join our team and help ensure the reliability of our API services. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining Cypress automation tests focused on API functionality. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in API testing who values precision, quality, and efficiency in automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress for thorough validation of our API services.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, QA, and product teams to define test strategies, identify test cases, and ensure comprehensive test coverage for APIs.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure tests are integrated into our CI/CD pipeline
  • Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot API-related issues, providing clear documentation and insights for continuous improvement. *Adapt and migrate Postman API tests to Cypress as we transition tools quality.
  • Regularly review and optimize test cases to ensure they align with the evolving product requirements and business needs.

Location Remote from any country Must be available to work until 12pm Pacific Time (later would be great)

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced speaking and writing English. Able to have a real-time conversation.
  • 2+ years of full-time hands-on QA Automation experience.
  • 2+ years of full-time hands-on API Testing experience.
  • 2+ years of full-time hands-in Cypress experience.
  • 2+ years of full-time hands-on Javascript or Typescript experience.
  • Solid understanding of API testing principles, including authentication, error handling, and data validation.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, especially in relation to Cypress scripting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to debugging and reporting issues, as well as, commitment to quality.

Nice to haves

  • Expertise in Cypress, particularly in advanced configuration and custom command creation.
  • Familiarity with other testing tools or frameworks, such as Postman or Mocha.
  • Experience in CI/CD environments, ensuring tests run smoothly in pipelines.
  • Knowledge of performance testing and load testing tools for APIs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated ability.
