Role Overview

Software Engineering is at the core of Right Balance and the Senior Engineering Manager role is key to the company’s overall performance. In this role, you’ll focus on the following:

  • Manage an international team of technology professionals: ensuring everyone’s highest level of performance, satisfaction, retention, growth, and motivation.
  • Manage relationships with our current clients: ensuring the performance of our hires meets and exceeds client’s expectations, identifying expansion opportunities, doing the best work, and incentivizing new client referrals.
  • Supporting hiring: by providing your technical expertise to our hiring team, managing our technical interviewers, and keeping the high bar of our technical screening for new candidates.
  • Managing internal software development: by making the right build vs buy technology decisions, ensuring quality software is built on time that solves impactful operational problems of Right Balance.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-time hands-on Engineering Management experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Software Engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of Agency experience providing resources for Clients.
  • Advanced spoken and written level of English. Able to have a real-time conversation.
  • Hands-on experience managing a technology team of 60+ direct & indirect reports.
  • Ability to have 6+ hours overlap with the US Pacific Time zone.

Nice to haves

  1. Hands-on coder today (even if rusty).
  2. Hands-on experience interviewing engineers, including live coding and architecture.
  3. Experience working with US-based companies.
  4. Startup experience.
  5. Experience working with a sales team.
